The Community of Bicester Raising Funds
For The Hummingbird Centre

The Hummingbird Centre always appreciates the support that they receive from the Businesses and the Community of Bicester and surrounding villages, Mechelle Harris, Founder of The Hummingbird Centre even two years in business still finds it extremely humbling when they are presented with cheques and confirmation that companies will continue to support us.

Mechelle comments:- The Hummingbird Centre is becoming very much part of Bicester we actively encourage those who support us to pop in and say hello and see what we’ve put their funds towards as The Hummingbird Centre is part of them and in a way an investment especially when a business continues to support us.

DHL Supply Chain, Charbridge Way, Bicester – Their story ….

Brian Bergmann, Admin FLM,
presenting the cheque to Mechelle Harris,
Founder of The Hummingbird Centre

The Hummingbird Centre were presented with a cheque for £10,200 this month by DHL Supply Chain, the funds were raised by their staff throughout 2015 and their Match It Scheme via the DHLUK Foundation.

Throughout the year DHL held a variety of events to raise the funds by selling a series of football cards throughout the Football Season, Sale of raffle tickets at the Christmas Party, Sale of goody boxesmade up from damaged chocolate cases every two months, sales of scrap metal to L C Hughes, along with selling a variety of other products acquired by other DHL sites in exchange for chocolate.

These events created a lot of team spirit amongst the staff all of whom felt as though they were doing their part for a local charity who they feel part of and will continue to support into 2016.

With a team of cyclist from HSBC

Last September a 4 man team entered the Extra Mile Cycling Challenge, covering over 500 miles in 3 days in the AlpesMancelles, Loire Valley and Montsd'Amnazac area of France. The team of Kevin Perryman, David Kita, Anthony Priestnall& Paul Harris were riding to support The Hummingbird Centre and we are delighted to announce that they raised a magnificent £3117.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored the team & very special thanks to the guys for such commitment, apparently they enjoyed (?) it so much they are already in training for this year’s Lake Geneva event - this time the route includes the Vosges area in France, The Black Forest in Germany and into Switzerland.....sounds like lots of steep hills to get up!

Practice day during the Summer prior to the event.

Reaching the finish time to celebrate – Well Done !!
