Twice a year as a crematorium we have an opportunity to donate funds that we have raised through the ICCM Metal Recycling scheme that our company takes part in. Each year we put forward local charities who support local bereaved families to receive a donation of the funds we receive from the scheme to help support the ongoing amazing work the charity performs.
This year we came upon ‘The Hummingbird Centre’ which we decided we would like to put forward to benefit from the ICCM Donation. We came to hear about the Hummingbird Centre from one of our local interfaith ministers who told of the wonderful service they offer to families in the community by giving them both support during life and for providing support to families who have suffered a bereavement. The interfaith minister told us that she had spoken with two families who expressed their gratitude to the charity for the amazing support they were given both during their loved one’s illness and then with the follow up care and bereavement support given to the family.
After hearing about the amazing work that ‘The Hummingbird Centre’ do we decided that we wanted to donate our funds from the first ICCM recycling scheme donation for this year to help them with their ongoing support to families.
We were pleased to be able to present a cheque to the sum of £5625.
