It’s not all about the humans that support our guests when they come to visit us, I volunteer as well.
I’ve been at The Hummingbird Centre for over 2 years with my Mum, Zoe who is the Centre Manager, I so look forward to my weeks, some days though can be exhausting if I say so myself, but I love the support that I can give to our guests, especially when they are feeling a little low.
I’ve been told that I provide emotional support for so many and I often don’t realise that I’m doing it, I just love being around and taking part in whatever is happening as every day something new happens.
Yes, I have my regular guests who come and say hello and I get given the odd treat or two but I have to remember to check with my Mum first as sometimes I have an upset tummy.
Christmas is great. I get so many treats and I love it when my mate Martin comes in every Wednesday as we often go off for a wander around the fields and pathways of Launton.
If you have never been to us before then please don’t be afraid you will love what we do and I’m always in reception ready to say hello, but we also make sure you are happy for me to be around as I understand not everyone loves dogs.
