This evening I was truly delighted to be at The Hummingbird Centre in Launton for the launch of their brand-new men’s support group.
Mark and I were given a wonderful tour by the Centre’s founder, Mechelle Harris, who shared the moving story of how the Centre was born from a promise to her late father. Walking through the therapy rooms and welcoming spaces, we saw for ourselves the love and determination that have shaped this remarkable place.
The men’s group—meeting on the first Monday of every month—will offer a safe space for men affected by cancer, whether directly or as carers. Tonight’s open evening was full of warmth, laughter, honesty, and connection.
