The Bertie Lodge is one of 55 Oxfordshire lodges of Freemasons, all of which come under the auspices of the United Grand Lodge of England, a unique and fraternal members’ organisation which has thrived for nearly 300 years.
We were delighted to be able to assist The Hummingbird Centre with a recent donation. We stand in awe of the superb and loving care all members of Hummingbird show in the delivery of the different services they offer to individuals and families impacted by cancer. We very much look forward to building an enduring and supportive relationship.
For Freemasons, four important values help define our path through life: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service. In today’s world, these principles ring as true as they have at any point in the organisation’s history and are the pillars on which our organisation stands. Of those pillars, perhaps the most important one our organisation stands on is Service.
SERVICE: Whether participating in events, fundraising for a charitable cause or volunteering for public or community organisations, service is at the very heart of Freemasonry. Our members make valuable contributions by donating time, resources and skills.
Our Lodges and members contribute thousands of hours serving their communities within Oxfordshire. We also provide an average of over £270,000 in direct support to charitable causes each year through our Lodges, Provincial Charity and the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
