The Hummingbird Centre is really excited to announce the launch of their new service, supporting men either living with cancer or supporting someone impacted by cancer.
Men will often admit they will not always reach out for support yet they know that it’s there, sometimes it’s the partners that will drag them along to organisations that can support them, so we’ve listened to those that have reached out to us and decided to launch our own, taking on board all that our male guests have shared with us.
Monday 1st September we will be holding an event launching our service, which will take place the 1st Monday of the month from 6pm to 8pm, we are looking to have 3 guests who are happy to share their stories along with how they have been supported by The Hummingbird Centre, as well as introduced the team and what we are looking to do in October, November and December.
We are aware that the Mondays will develop over time and we will work with those who hopefully attend to find out more on what they are looking for from their Hummingbird. Going forward we will offer the same as we do at the centre during the day, and over time we hope those who need us will reach out and take advantage of the support that we offer during the day.
By offering a support service for a few hours we hope to reach out to those that may be working or don’t feel as though they can come during the day because they may feel that to many ladies go which can sometimes be the case.
We want the evening sessions to work and we want the guys to reach out to us and tell us what they would like to have and see.
